Welcome to Health Net Medicare Programs. All of the Health Net plans are color-coded. The Ruby (HMO) plans are the most popular plans. The summary of benefits tells you the features of Health Net's plans. You make the choice. No matter what you decide, you are still in the Medicare Advantage Program.

• Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) - This type of plan uses a provider network of contracted doctor and hospitals for services. They require you to choose a primary care physician (PCP) and that doctor will provide referrals to specialists. Many will include part D drug coverage as well. The plan will have co-pays for most services. The plans offer urgent and emergent care when out of your service area while traveling.
  
  
• Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) - This type of plan uses a provider network of contracted doctor and hospitals for services. You are not required to choose a Primary Care Physician and may go to any doctor in the network with or without a referral. Many of these plans will include part D drug coverage. The plan will have co-pays for most services. The plans offer urgent and emergent care when out of your service area while traveling.
